St Andrews & Aberdeen Self Drive Tour



Saturday - Day 1

This evening depart the United States.


Sunday - Day 2

On arrival at the Glasgow Airport you will be met by InterGolf Vacations personnel who will assist you with your luggage and transfer to your transportation.

Monday - Day 3

Today challenge the *Old Course (Ballot) of St. Andrews. The "Home of Golf", the Old Course has played host to the greatest golfers in the world and produced many of golf's dramatic moments. Wide double fairways, seven extensive double greens, and a multitude of intimidating bunkers are just some of the unique features you will encounter. *Please see note in 'Important Information' regarding Old Course Ballot.

Tuesday - Day 4

Today play the Balcomie Links at Crail Golfing Society. It is the seventh oldest club in the world and is located at the very eastern point in the golfing country of Fife. This pleasant links course has a beautiful setting perched high above the ocean, providing panoramic views of the North Sea. Several of the fairways wind alongside the golden sandy bays and rocky outcrops of the shore. Please note a very limited supply of golf carts are available for hire. Certain restrictions may apply, please advise your Golf Travel Specialist.

Wednesday - Day 5

Today play Carnoustie , host to the British Open on six previous occasions and considered by many to be the most challenging of all Open venues. While the links is relatively flat it is exposed to the elements. A combination of length and accuracy are required from the tee and approach shots demand precision to the greens heavily guarded by steep bunkers and burns. Arguably the toughest finishing holes in championship golf, the course will host the world's best again in 2007 when the Open returns to this wonderful venue.

Thursday - Day 6

Play Royal Aberdeen (Balgownie Links) , the sixth oldest club in the world. This is a demanding test of Scottish links golf which runs along the North Sea Shore. The inward nine runs through yellow whins and purple heather and provides a unique contrast to the sand dunes which are dominant in the outward holes.

Friday - Day 7

Today play the outstanding Cruden Bay Golf Club , which provides panoramic views of the North Sea from various points on the course. The greens are hidden between large sand dunes, and blind shots are featured prominently on this challenging links. This remarkable course was recently included in Golf magazine's "100 Greatest Courses in the World".

Saturday - Day 8

Depart the United Kingdom from the Glasgow Airport.

Additionally, the Falcon Restauarant is well known in the area and specilizes in dishes using local produce. This property is within walking distance of the Cruden Bay Golf Club.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION


Changes: After deposits have been received and confirmation has been issued, any changes requested by the client are subject to an administrative fee of $50.00 per change per person in addition to any charges which may be made by suppliers for cancellations. In most cases, changes cannot be made less than 60 days before travel.

Handicap Certificate: Most courses require visitors to be a member of a recognized golf club and to hold official handicaps, with some courses imposing a maximum handicap restriction. InterGolf Vacations endorses this viewpoint and recommends that players travel with a valid handicap certificate from their golf club which they may be required to produce.

Old Course Ballot: The handicap limit for playing the Old Course is 24 for men and 36 for ladies. In addition, an official handicap card will be a prerequisite for play at the Old Course.
